30x30x30

school project

2011

This cube was created as a one-week research project for "Architectural design 1". Our task was to make a cube 30x30x30cm and withing it's constraints create a space with a path

My idea was to crate a volume, which consists of repetitive elements and collapses space and path into one. The elements used are upside-down arches different dimensions (height and width) placed one after another to create a feeling of volume.

The final effect was similar to the one we get, when visiting churches, with repetitive columns, shadows and rays of light coming through.
With abstraction of form and idea, I was able to evoke the feeling of real life architecture, through which you could move ... if you were 100 times smaller.
